Product Information“Cirio” by poster designer Leonetto Cappiello (1875 – 1942) is a poster that is literally bursting with ripeness and color. A successful Italian artist, Cappiello applied his advertising sense to his posters, creating powerfully evocative images that fostered strong emotional connections to the products being sold. Despite his early career as a magazine caricaturist, Cappiello only rose to fame after 1900 when he began a four decade career creating as many as 1000 different posters. This art print displays sharp, vivid images with a high degree of color accuracy. A member of the versatile family of art prints, this high-quality reproduction represents the best of both worlds: quality and affordability. Art prints are created on paper similar to that of a postcard or greeting card using a digital or offset lithography press. About the ArtistCalled the father of the modern poster, Italian artist Leonetto Cappiello (1875 – 1942) made advertising posters modern and collectible. Cappiello, who was self-taught, began as a caricaturist and escalated to the early 20th century’s most acclaimed European artist. Cleverly linking products with vivid, memorable images, he produced 1,000 imaginative posters for beverages, ballet, literature, plays, travel and music halls in four decades. Leading the Art Deco movement, Cappiello’s techniques are still vital to modern advertising. © AllPosters
