Product InformationAndy Warhol’s obsession with mortality took a morbid turn in 1968 when he was almost fatally shot by Valerie Solanas. Compelled by that near-death experience, Warhol (1923 – 1987) created several artworks, including his “Guns” series, duplicating Solanas’ revolver. Utilizing his signature technique of reproducing multiple images of an instantly recognizable cultural symbol, the gun appears to be lethal, even though no one is holding it. This art print displays sharp, vivid images with a high degree of color accuracy. A member of the versatile family of art prints, this high-quality reproduction represents the best of both worlds: quality and affordability. Art prints are created on paper similar to that of a postcard or greeting card using a digital or offset lithography press. About the ArtistAndy Warhol (1923 – 1987), one of the 20th century’s most creative, prolific and influential artists, defined a decade and a culture with his groundbreaking Pop Art. Initially a popular Manhattan commercial artist, Warhol achieved fame with his multiple images of soup cans, soda bottles, dollar bills and celebrities, which revealed the beauty within mass culture. Innovator of silkscreening, Warhol’s talents also encompassed filmmaking, music production, commercial illustration, writing and magazine publishing. © AllPosters
