Product Information

The works of art in this collection were selected from the personal collection inherited by Marina Picasso, Pablo Picasso's granddaughter. After Pablo Picasso's death in 1973, his granddaughter Marina authorized the printing of these original lithographs, which have come to be known as the Picasso Estate Collection. The lithographs were meticulously created after the original works (oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, and charcoal drawings) by Master Chromist Marcel Salinas, who worked closely with Picasso in his lifetime. They are printed in an edition of 1000 on first-quality paper.

Years of publication: 1979-1982. Printer: Laurent Marcel Salinas Publisher: Estate of Picasso (Marina Picasso), with Estate-approved Picasso signature printed below image. It also has in typeset under image, Collection Marina Picasso, and the copyright info in typeset on the right of image. Certificate of authenticity included.

About the Artist

Artistic genius Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973) co-founded Cubism and produced a monumental 20,000 artworks during his 70-year career. Picasso’s torrential outpouring of work was so extensive and complex that art historians have divided it into individual periods. A prodigy in his youth, Picasso enrolled in advanced classes at Barcelona’s Royal Academy of Art at age 15. The strong geometric forms of his groundbreaking Cubist works redefined art as a medium that could digress from literal images of reality. Passionately creative in every genre from primitive art to sketches to Surrealism, Picasso profoundly impacted 20th century art.
